For EVOLUTION/ REVOLUTION, Horton-Trippe has created a new series addressing the absurdities, fractures, and dark humor of our current global landscape.
Known for her sweeping, large-scale abstraction, the artist shifts here to intimate, small format works.
“The new work was driven by the need to speak out, and painting is my outlet. These painting— though rooted in my personal experience— address the bizarre, unsettling circumstances of our world today. As climate change becomes undeniable, nature in the work takes the upper hand, mutating into new life forms and finding new solutions within the relentless cycles oh history.”— Shelly Horton-Trippe
